History
Hanging on the wall in our office is an insurance policy written by Hugh Bertram. The policy was written in 1897. It insured a farmhouse, contents, 2 barns, a stable, shed and related contents. The annual premium on the policy was $103.00.
Hugh’s son Ron took over the insurance business after his father passed away in 1941. Ron developed the brokerage through hard work, attention to details, and most of all, outstanding service to his customers. Ron Bertram retired in 1977 and sold the business to his son-in-law John Barry.
Today, 4 generations later, the business remains an independent, family owned and operated insurance brokerage.
In 2004, we were honoured to be named Corporate Citizen of the Year by the Stoney Creek Chamber of Commerce for our commitment to the Stoney Creek community. In 2011, we were received the Stoney Creek Chamber of Commerce Legacy Award.
Independence
Independence means one thing; we work for you. We represent many insurance companies, but we are not employed by them. We seek out the best combination of coverage, products and rates from the insurance company that best suits your needs.
We remind ourselves every day that our customers make our business what it is today. And with that in mind, we work hard to provide a high level of service.
